How we verify listings

Every listing shows a badge that tells you whether a curator has checked it. Here’s what each one means, what our curators look at, and what to do if something looks wrong.

What the badges mean

You’ll see one of these on every listing, in results and on its page.

Checked

A curator has compared this listing with its official source.

  • It names the official source it came from
  • The details matched that source on the date shown
  • Some are independently verified; the listing says which
Not yet checked

Published from an official source, but a curator hasn’t compared every detail with it yet.

  • It still names its source, so you can check it yourself
  • Treat the details with care until it’s checked
  • The badge changes once a curator checks it

How a listing gets checked

  1. 1

    Found

A curator adds a listing from an official source: a funder, a programme host or a government office.

  2. 2

    Curator review

A curator compares who can apply, the deadline and the amount with the official source.

  3. 3

    Published

Only our admins publish. The listing goes live with a badge that shows whether it’s been checked.

  4. 4

    Kept current

Listings leave search when their deadline passes, and a curator re-checks one when its source changes or someone reports a problem.

What a badge does and doesn’t tell you

Checked means

  • The details matched the official source on the date we checked
  • The listing names its source, so you can check it yourself
  • Links take you to the official source

It doesn’t mean

  • We run the opportunity or decide who gets it
  • You’ll be selected, or that it’s right for you
  • We endorse the organisation or its views
  • A policy note is legal advice

Never pay to apply

Real funders rarely charge an application fee. If a listing asks for money, bank details or a “processing fee” before you’re selected, don’t pay. Report it and a curator will look into it.

Report a listing

Spotted something wrong?

Every listing has “Flag or suggest a correction” on its page. A curator reviews what you send and updates the listing if needed.

Suggest a correction

Is this your organisation?

We build organisation pages from official sources, with no work on your side. If something is wrong, send a correction. Missing an opportunity or event? Tell us and a curator will check it.

Questions

How often do you check listings again?

A curator re-checks a listing whenever its source changes or someone reports a problem. Listings leave search when their deadline passes.

Can an organisation pay to be verified?

No. A badge only reflects checks against the official source, and nobody can pay for one.

What happens when I report a listing?

A curator reads your report, compares the listing with its official source and corrects or removes it if needed.

Why do some listings say “Not yet checked”?

They were published from an official source before a curator compared every detail. Confirm the details on the official site before you apply.
